1ST ANNIVERSARY: JOURNEY FOR JUSTICE TO SHOW THE IMMORALITY OF THE IMMIGRATION POLICY

This is the first anniversary of the “Journey for Justice: Peregrinaje por la Justicia” organized by Witness for Justice.

Dozens of human and migrant rights activists from around the country set off on the Journey for Justice on December 3, 2022, in Brownsville, Texas, and ended in San Ysidro, California, on December 18, 2022. The caravan went along the 2,300 mile border pilgrimage along the entire length of the US-Mexico border.

The journey was to honor the lives of migrants and asylum seekers who have suffered and especially those who have died at the U.S.-Mexico border. In the year up to October 22, there were a record 856 deaths. The journey also was meant to highlight the need for just and humane immigration legislation.

Here we publish some of the many articles from Witness at the Border’s Journey for Justice. Please visit www.witnessattheborder.org for more information about Witness at the Border and the Journey for Justice.

We thank Francisco Mendoza and Nanzi Muro for the photos and video clips they took of the Journey for Justice.

El Tribuno del Pueblo and its sister publication the People’s Tribune partnered and participated in this journey. Our participation was made possible by donations from our readers and friends. Please donate to El Tribuno del Pueblo to continue this work of education and truth-telling that hopefully will lead to organization and action against human rights violations.
