DNC 2024
While democrats from around the nation gathered to pat themselves on the back and nominate Tim Walz for Vice President and Kamala Harris as President, protestors from around the U.S. also gathered in the streets of Chicago to protest the ongoing Palestinian genocide. Leading up to the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC), many people couldn’t help but point out the similarities between 1968 and 2024. In both years we see a growing anti-war movement, rising racial tensions, and extreme dissatisfaction with both democratic and republican parties. El Tribuno del Pueblo and the People’s Tribune sent a team to Chicago to document what was happening outside the DNC. People marched for reproductive rights, affordable housing, education, and labor rights but what united everyone, was the demand to stop U.S. money to Israel that is funding a genocide against the Palestinian people. In this special edition, we aim to bring the voices of today’s movement to our readers.
“From the river to the sea Palestine will be free. From the sea to the river, Palestine will live forever.”
