Defend the rights of migrant children this May 13th!

This week, Title 42, a policy that prevents most people from seeking asylum in the US, is set to expire. We are excited that migrants will, once again, have their right to seek asylum in the US. But we are appalled by many of the responses by the Biden administration to both limit those rights and to respond to an influx of migrants. In particular, the Biden administration plans to rapidly expand child detention.

Right now the Greensboro Piedmont Academy is empty, but ready for 800 children as an “Influx Care Facilities (ICF).” However the administration attempts to brand them, these are child detention centers. Greensboro is an unlicensed facility managed by Deployed Resources and Deployed Services, a private for profit organization that managed Trump’s child detention facilities.

The Biden Administration had three years to listen to immigrant justice advocate’s recommendations to #KeepFamiliesTogether. They have failed.

Tsuru for Solidarity, in partnership with local and national groups, will keep defending the rights of f migrant children. We are hosting a digital and in person rally on Saturday, May 13th.

As we get closer to Saturday, May 13th, we will have more information on ways you can support. Please stay tuned!

As capitalism fails, the only strategy the ruling class has is to turn us against each other by scapegoating narratives and pushing divisive politics. This is why we are a national source of information connected to a network of movement newspapers and publications. We represent the voices of those fighting for human rights and a world for people, not profits.
