Rio Grande Valley: ICE Launches Manhunt Against the People

Nicole Good, the woman killed by ICE in Minneapolis, 37, was a mother of three. She was a U.S. citizen and had no criminal record.

Nicole Good is one of more than 39 people who have been victims of ICE’s practice of not respecting human life in this country. ICE appears to be a group of Trump’s private army who appear to have received the right to terrorize the American  people without any consequences for them.

ICE is conducting a manhunt on undocumented according to background criminal information. But in fact, this is a pretext for implementing a completely fascist system in the United States. The Trump administration has its plan to completely deny us our constitutional rights, be it one a US citizen or not.

This is how it began in Germany when the Nazis seized control of the government and no one objected, and you already know the result: the massacre of thousands of Jews, Catholics, Lutherans, trade unionists, and socialists. Here in the Valley, the people are responding to the ICE attacks. A protest was organized on January 5th in front of the offices of Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz, more than 50 people participated. This protest was in response to the murder of Nicole Good and the invasion of Venezuela.

Days later there were more protests: On January 17, the Organizing Committee of Mid Valley organized a protest in McAllen and then on January 18, another protest was organized in response to the ICE detention of people in the town of Brownsville. At the Brownsville demonstration, more than 100 people participated.

A few months ago, ICE conducted a raid in Hidalgo,Texas in the used clothing business and several people were arrested. In a few months, the government will present its case before the court, and it asked the federal judge that the acronym ICE not be used in the judicial proceedings because it would negatively affect the government’s case. The judge denied their request, and the acronym will be used. The reason for not wanting to use the acronym is that the government wants to hide what ICE truly is.

But we are organizing to put a stop to this type of aggression against us, the people. Whether we have documents or not, we are a people who have enriched these multi-millionaire fascists.

We are organizing ourselves to become stronger and more numerous at each protest so that the people respond with more people. We cannot remain silent. The way of production is changing and we are no longer needed it because through technology (robots) and AI human labor is no longer as necessary. The solution for the rich/corporations is war because we are the ones who fight in their wars and those who cannot fight their wars are left on the street. At the moment, we have no other option but to do the task of something for our families because, as one friend said “the future is in our hands.”
